11/20/09--08:04: About "Raindrops" Doujinshi (chan 2617649)




Okay, I have to formally make things very clear about the state of my Sesshomaru/Kagome doujinshi.

1) NO I am not abandoning it. I very much plan to continue it, and in fact Chapter 6 has been scripted and thumbnailed, and is sitting on my work table just waiting to be done. I know it's been almost a year since Chapter 5 was released, but make no mistake that Raindrops is not forgotten, nor has my passion to do it dwindled.

2) IT IS NOT A PRIORITY RIGHT NOW. I have many things on my plate at the moment that need my attention more than Raindrops. For one, I am graduating college within the next month. I have a ton of things to do to make

Wow, it's Christmas already.

Just a quick update on my life: Graduated College just last week and am currently working on *drumroll* "Raindrops!" Chapter 6: Strangers.

Also, I had a Holiday pic lined up but I don't think I'll make it until after Xmas. Good thing it's not too Christmas-themed as it is Seasonal themed. lol.

100% sketched on the computer. My poor tablet. There are so many characters... Sketching it was fun, but I'm sure I will regret this later.

So, it's been about two days since I got the Lasek Surgery and a lot of you guys asked for a post surgery journal--mainly detailing how it went, if it hurt, if it works, etc. etc. Because you were considering getting it too.

Well, here's the inside scoop:

First things first, before you get the surgery, research the surgeon that you think would be right for performing the procedure on you. Find out their credentials, their qualifications, their rates of success, etc.

When I finally decided on mine (I went to a place called IQ Vision) they did a thorough examination on me to see if I could get the procedure done in the first place. Af

(this makes me wonder if nude pics of Neo Queen Serenity would be considered violations despite the fact that she is 1000+ years old by then) The picture itself was not sexual in any way though. They were only hugging, and nothing was showing. Not even man nipples. But I understand their policy and I'm actually not mad about it. Yesterday I had the BEST. DAY. EVAR.

It all started with :iconblaezfolf: inviting :iconmochiroo: and myself to Wizard World Comic Con in Anaheim for a day, which is more his brand of geekdom than ours. We didn't mind going since I'm still into that stuff, but the main reason we wanted to go was so we could hang out and see him again.

When we got there, it was kinda cool. Like a little mini comic con, and I guess people mainly go for the celebrities that are literally lined up in like three rows sitting behind booths just selling their autographs. At this point, we were like, okay, this is pretty fun, and interesting.

I have very simple rules when you decide to reference a pose or an idea or whatever that is originally my work:

1) Ask my permission
2) Give credit in your comments. If you can provide a link back to where you found the original source that would be great as well.
3) Don't use it for profit.

And yet people get all defensive when my watchers or even myself tell them to CREDIT ME when they post something up that obviously was referenced off (or sometimes out-right traced which is bordering on art theft), and then don't even to bother putting in their artist's comments that the idea is not theirs.

I am Vietnamese.

Technically I am half Vietnamese and half Chinese (from my Dad's side). So if you guessed either of those you were right. Though I consider myself more of the former, only because everyone who is Chinese in my family was born in Vietnam and speak little to no Chinese at all, including my Father and Grandparents. I myself was born here and have never visited Vietnam (yet). But I speak it fluently (well, mostly), and read it (but don't always understand all of the words ^^;) as well

So what have I been up to? Besides not updating art here?

Life my dear friends, life.

Recently I had a job at StereoD rotoscoping for some upcoming movies. It was a job that required me to work graveyard shift, so needless to say I was too tired to do anything but sleep when I get home. That only lasted a month before Meteor Games called me with a better offer and I am currently working there as a 2D artist for their online social games on facebook. So I've been getting back into Livestreaming lately but I was wondering that beyond just drawing or whatever it is that I do and you guys just watching me if there's anything you'd want to get out of it. Would any of you be more interested if the livestreams were more oriented on tips and discussions on how to do certain things? More tutorial in nature over subjects that you actually want to learn? I know that at least for me, whenever I want to watch another artist work I'm studying them on how I can better improve myself, and being able to ask questions and getting them answered in real time is a big help.

Hey, it's been a while since I've had a journal entry. You might be wondering what I've been up to lately.

Some of you might already know that I had lost my job at Meteor Games (Island Paradise, Neopets: Treasure Keepers, Serf Wars). In fact, everyone who worked there lost their jobs, because the company went under. The social gaming scene is a bloody and fierce place.

Despite the fall, it was truly a wonderful place to work, with the coolest most talented people, and I was very fortunate to have been a part of it. I walked away with nothing but good experiences and lifelong friends.
